Viva Vulva started out as an isolated fundraiser for a Rape Crisis Centre in Brighton. At the time, the Viva Vulva founder was volunteering with the charity and got increasingly frustrated at the lack of funding allocated for such vital services. Subsequently, she decided to sell vulva posters she designed to raise money for the organisation and simultaneously draw attention to  the presence of the vulva. Today, Viva Vulva represents more than vulvas. “Viva Vulva” celebrates resilient bodies that show up daily.
  • First and foremost, we believe that it is vital to acknowledge lived experiences, and bodily realities and validate them.
  • Secondly, we believe that the creative expression of mental & physical states can be empowering - in each painting, an individual experience is creatively embraced.
  • Lastly, we want to support services that listen to, believe & help survivors. How?
The collections are fundraisers for charities that support survivors in various ways. It is important to state our positionality: Viva Vulva is written from the perspective of a cis-hetero woman with a vulva. This is one perspective.
